TheEnablerisanapplicationthatisinstalledonmobiledevicestofacilitatecommunication

betweenthedeviceandamobiledeviceserver.Themobiledeviceserverallows

communicationbetweenthemobiledeviceandtheAvalancheConsole.

TheEnablercanmanageanumberoffunctionsonthemobiledevicetoallowadministratorsto

configuremobiledevices.Thesefunctionsinclude:

• ControloftheWiFiradio.Thisallowsyoutoconfiguretheradio(IEEE802.11)settingsof

themobiledevicefromtheAvalancheConsoleoratthemobiledevicethroughtheEnabler

GUI.

• Controlofnetworksettings.ThisallowsyoutoconfiguretheIPsettingsofthemobile

devicefromtheAvalancheConsoleoratthemobiledevicethroughtheEnablerGUI.

• ControloftheWWANradio.ThisallowsyoutoconfigureWWANsettingsonthemobile

deviceinordertoconnecttotheAvalancheConsolewhenoutofWiFirange.

YoucanalsousetheEnablertoperformthefollowingtasks:

• Lock-downthemobiledevicetopreventusersfromaccessingotherinstalledcomponents.

• CreateshortcutstootherapplicationsintheEnablerinterfaceandlaunchthemonthe

mobiledevice.

• ViewcommunicationbetweentheEnablerandthemobiledeviceserver,including

softwareandconfigurationdownloads.

• ViewmessagessentbyanadministratorfromtheAvalancheConsoletothemobiledevice.

TheEnablerusesFlashmemorytoensurethatitsurvivesacoldboot.Wavelinkworkswithin

theconstraintsofthemobiledevicetodeterminethebestmethodtorestoretheEnablertothe

mobiledevicefromtheFlashmemorystoragelocationintheeventofacoldboot.
